Foreword
Welcome to the 9th edition of our newsletter. Energy is
continuing to dominate the headlines. At the time of writing, an
announcement from the government on meeting renewable energy targets was
due. As a nation we are currently only generating around 5% of our
electricity from green sources and are aiming for 15% by 2020! Many
organisations are calling on politicians to talk less and do more.
Elsewhere, everyone is being hit hard by the increase in the price of oil.
Whilst those that commute to work by can look at initiatives such as car
sharing or other means of transport, there are some sectors of the community
where livelihood is being threatened.
One thing is for certain, the nation needs the right people to address and
implement solutions to these issues and in this months issue of the
newsletter you can see a mere selection of the opportunities we have on
offer for energy professionals.
Feature wise, this month we are delighted to welcome a contribution from
James Anderson who is looking at the beneficiaries of Climate Change whilst
our new addition in HR, Lorraine Bailey, is on hand to provide some useful
insight in the recruitment world.
