My client is currently looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer who is interested in an opportunity to be based out of Darwin, with the zinc-lead-silver mine site located in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Main objective of the role:
Through the collection, interpretation and analysis of geotechnical data, meet the operational and mine planning requirements of the open cut zinc-lead-silver mine.
Implementing projects and plans to minimise geotechnical risk/slope failure and rock fall.
Qualifications;
Bachelor of Science - Majoring in Mining Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering.
The applicant MUST have open cut mining experience with at least seven (7) years experience.
Experience in strategic risk identification and management will be highly regarded.
Role:
As Senior Geotechnical Engineer your main tasks will be to lead the team in developing Geotechnical systems and models, meet the operational and mine planning requirements and implement plans/ projects to minimise geotechnical risks, slope failure and rock fall, ensuring long term stability.
The site:
Fly in, Fly out based from Darwin on a 4/3 working roster.
Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, this is a great living environment without the humidity experienced in Darwin with well established facilities on site.
There is a big emphasis on health, safety and environment as well as Indigenous affairs.
