Our client is looking for a Principal Ecologist with significant experience of EIA, UK legislation and one or more specific species groups.
Experience of working on wind farm projects is highly desirable (on-shore and/or off-shore).
The successful candidate is likely to work on projects throughout the UK, and there may be opportunities to work abroad.
Candidates who can demonstrate exceptional abilities may be considered for a higher grade position
The ideal candidate will have leadership skills and motivational skills, as teams of staff will often be working long hours in remote locations. You will also have appropriate attitude to health and safety matters.
Essential skills:
- Relevant first degree
- Full member of IEEM
- Chartered Environmentalist
- Commercial awareness
- Full driving licence
- Good communication skills (including high standards of written work)
Desirable skills:
- Second degree in relevant field
- Detailed knowledge of ecological principles, ecological impact assessment and relevant wildlife legislation
- In-depth knowledge of particular plant or animal groups and appropriate field survey skills
- Possession of survey or development licences
