Our clients' require a Principal Transport Modeller to provide services for a diverse client base, which includes a wide range of local authorities and private developers. These services include transport planning, traffic modelling, policy development safety audits, road safety programmes, traffic data assessment and analysis as well as the development of green travel plans.
This position is to be based in Cumbria, North West England, but may require some travel to other offices throughout the UK.
The requirements for the successful candidate includes:
· Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
· Ideally Chartered in a relevant technical discipline
· Experience of the following modelling programs: SATURN, CUBE, DIADEM, TUBA, COBA and QAUDRO
· Experience of carrying out traffic and transportation studies and schemes
· Understanding of Local Transport Planning processes
· Project management and/or programme monitoring experience
· Ability to analyse and understand complex systems and solve problems
· Computer literate and experience in the use of Microsoft Office
The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities:
· Experience of undertaking safety related studies and road safety audits
· Experience of Local Authority/Public Sector partnership working
· Experience of financial and people management
· Experience of carrying out business development activities
· Experience of running graduate development programmes
· Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management
· Understanding of Local Authority and Central Government highway programmes and processes
The responsibilities for the successful candidate include, but are not limited to the following:
· Support Associate, Team Leaders and team members in the delivery of projects
· Carry out traffic and transportation studies for a wide variety of clients
· Project programming and management
· Delivery of feasibility studies, scheme design and stakeholder engagement
· Research analysis
· Policy development
· Report writing
· Graduate staff development
· Contribution to and participation in presentations
· Work as part of a team to ensure that projects and programmes are delivered to the client?s satisfaction.
