Our clients' are looking for a Planning Consultant to provide planning advice on major development, regeneration and transport projects, undertaking planning policy studies in order to achieve positive outcomes for clients.

The main responsibilities for the successful candidates include:

? To provide planning advice on development, regeneration and transport projects including research, policy studies, planning applications and Environmental Statements and public inquiry evidence preparation.

? To contribute effectively to projects ? undertaking research, analysis and report-drafting in accordance with the brief and budget to ensure project specifications are met

? To manage small projects in accordance with the requirements of the project management system, including taking responsibility for client liaison, budgeting adherence to QA procedures and progress, project and financial monitoring in order to ensure that all projects are delivered to budget

? To identify and follow up business opportunities with existing and new clients in collaboration with more senior members of the team to maximise sales

? To prepare or assist in the preparation of project proposals, marketing and presentation materials to produce high quality proposals

? To ensure that project utilisation targets are met or exceeded in order to contribute to meeting team and company targets

Essential knowledge include:

? RTPI accredited degree or post graduate qualification
? Appreciation for the interface between planning and the environment, particularly in relation to major development and infrastructure projects
? An understanding of the role of EIA in the planning process
? Understanding of Project Management principles

Essential skills include:

? Effective relationship building skills, with strong collaborative working skills and effective interpersonal and influencing skills
? Excellent communication skills ? including oral, written and presentation skills
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
